Setting Goals for 2015

Are you setting your goals for 2015?
Have you started putting them into your planner?
Are you having trouble with setting up goals?

On my Facebook page I asked my friends if they had any goals for 2015.

Their first answer was they didn't have material goals.
SO I said good. What are your none material goals?

Peace of mind
To be happy
To find the right partner
Goal setting doesn't work.
You can't plan out your life.
You have to live in the moment.

I got the goal setting doesn't work a lot.
You know me I don't take simple answers. I want to dig deeper.
I want more fulfilling answers.
Fulfilling was my word of the year 2014.
So I dug deeper.

I started off with,

"If your goal is to have peace of mind, how do you want to reach that goal?"
"If you want to be happy, how are you planning on reaching that goal?"
"How will you find your new partner?"

I asked questions of HOW, WHY, WHEN, WHAT

The answers I got

By digging deeper I got them to tell me their goals.
The funny thing was, is that they didn't see them as goals just things that they wanted.

"I don't want to spend an other Christmas on my own"
"I want to go on holiday with my family"
"I want to spend more money on myself"
"I want to find out what makes me happy"

These material and none material things are what their heart wants but they are afraid to speak up and tell them to the world and most importantly themselves.

Seeing goals as a wast of time

The reason why they thought that setting goals or planning out your goals was a wast of time is because they never came true. They never happened.

They believe that if you set goals and plan them out, you leave no room for spontaneity. With everything planned out, you end up living a boring life.

Everything has to do with The way your mind is set.

Goal setting is a wast of time, is what they believe to be true, which will end up being true.

Seeing setting goals as a wast of time is because they take their goal setting not seriously enough.
If done half heartedly then of course it's a wast of time because it just, doesn't, get done.

How I set and plan out my goals

First I write down all the things that I want for the year or years to come.
I don't say what I would like because they are things that I WANT.

Would like is not a strong enough word. It's a polite word.
But the universe needs to know that I really want it.
Not just would like which is hope to have it. Hope is a future word and will stay in the future and not come into the present.

After writing the things down that I want, I then I take a look at when I want them.

Let's just take a look at one of my goals.

I don't want to celebrate my 40th birthday with a big party. I want to be on my own with my hubby somewhere. So I asked myself where?
On the Aida.
So I have a Where and a When. I put this into my calendar and work backwards.
What needs to be done, to be on the Aida for my birthday?
I write down everything that I need to do, like book a room on the boat. How much will it coat me? How much do I need to save up? Do I have enough clothes?
I plan out when all my to-does need to be done and do them. Bookings, saving up and shopping for new clothes.

Ok too easy you say. Then let's move onto a harder one.

To be happy.

What makes you happy?
What small things make you happy?
What used to make you happy as a child?
Where were you the most happiest?
How could you bring more happiness into your life?

First write down what makes you happy.
Is it eating an ice-cream?
Going to the movies?
Meeting some friends?
Reading a book?
Getting your hair or nails done?
Dancing around in circles with no clothes on listening to Madonna?

After you have found out what makes you happy then choose a day of the week and schedule it into your calendar.

There easy-peasy. You now have more fun in your life and that leads to happiness.

It's the same for finding the right man.
You ask yourself questions.
What type of man do I want?
Where will I be likely to meet this man?
What are his interests?
Do I need to be going to the places I think he will be at?
Do I need a friend to help me?

The first step it always writing your goals down on paper

Then making a to-do list of what you need to do to reach that goal.
Breaking down your to-do list into even smaller baby steps so you dooon't give up before you start.
Scheduling your baby step into your calendar.

Oh and having fun along the way.

Now over to you. What are your goals for 2015?

Leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you.

Have a wonderful goal planning.

Planner up-date for 2015

My Filofax Personal up-date

2015 isn't that far away

With only a few days to go till the end of 2014, it's time to add 2015 to your planner.

Thanks to Raine from LimeTreeFruits.com I was able to update my planner last month.
If you go over to her blog you can also be just as lucky as I am.

I am a member and I love being one

Being a member means that you can receive different planner pages.
Here are the bigger boxed Personal. A month on 2 pages.

I also have a year on one page stuck on the back of December; month on 2 pages.

I am still looking for

a week on 2 pages that I like.
This year 2014 I have been using the Filofax a week on 2 pages. It is lined and has a touch of colour.
Which you all know I need.

These are easy to use, because you can write in a straight line.
At the top of the page I am able to write my important goals of the week.
I can then schedule them into the day of the week I want to have them done.
What I want done I write on the right side of the page, under the title Erledigen, which means To-do.

I'm not a planner decorator

I like to have space to write and don't want to spend my time with stickers. I like to watch other people use them, but it's not for me.
I like to use different coloured pens, and that's it I'm afraid.

My dividers

Are so so cool. You can find these dividers at LimeTreeFruits
Raine has done all the decorating for me, now aren't they gorgeous.

This is when my control anxiety raised its ugly head.

While writing this post I was getting worried about my Week on two pages for 2015. I hadn't found the same ones I was using this year. I didn't like the ones that came with this planner.

I Started to get all tense again and worrying that my year 2015 wasn't all that nice to look at or functional.
That I might not use this planner and not be structured enough. The craziest things came into my head.
So I stopped what I was doing. Changed my state. Started to visualise the perfect week on two pages.
We will see if what I visualised I am able to put down onto paper.

Visualising had gotten me calm enough to go onto Amazon and find the same pages I have been using this year.
Strange that I couldn't find them before hand, but they came to me when I needed them.

So that's all that has changed so far. We all know that I will be doing some new things between Christmas and new year. That's when I don't have to go work in schools.

Over to you

What have you changed in you planner for 2015? Have you added new inserts?

If you have any Questions about my planner, please do leave a message down bellow.

Have a lovely day

New home made Teachers planner

Home made Teachers planner

It was that time of year where all teachers, home schooling or conventional need a new planner.

I was on a mission again to find a planner that I liked.
I wasn't able to fine one that fit my needs. Having the same planner as I used last term wouldn't do me this year. (see teachers planner on this blog)

I wanted more colour. I wanted to love having this in my hands and opening it, using it. I also wanted something that other teachers didn't have.

Time to buy a new one

So this is when I went to staples and bought myself an new binder to hold all my lovely coloured pages.

I like the staples binders because they have rubber edges and have a pocket on the cover for your own pictures.

I have the LimeTreeFruits dividers and inserts. They only had to be printed out and hole punched and stuck in.

"How to be a Goddess" by Leonie Dawson

Where my planning love comes out to play

Inside my calender I have the days and times I am available, marked off. This makes planning my work life a lot simpler and I can never double book myself.
If for example a school phones up and asks if I can substitute, all I have to do is take a look at where I am at what time. That way I can tell them if I am free or not.

What I have inside

I have an income tracker inside because I work from home. This is in the front for easy access.

A year on one page with the school holidays blocked off. Good for planning when I will be working in the holidays and when I can book my own holiday.

I have 4 different school time tables inside.
Some schools have different starting and lesson times which at first sounds stupid but it makes my life much easier. I can then coordinate driving from one school to the next much better.
If they all had the same lesson plan I wouldn't be able to make 3 different schools in one morning.

Behind the second divider I have my home lesson plan. I write the children names and what they have had to learn that day. I also write down if I have given them homework so I remember to ask them for it the following week.

My next divider is my school lesson planner. What school or Kindergarten I have to be in and for how long. I have my lesson teaching plan written down so I don't forget or mix them up. I also write down if I have to bring props with me.

I then have student attendance insert. This is mainly for Kindergarten to I know how much money I have to invoice parents.

Student info is of cause for their telephone numbers. Mainly for when I happen to be ill and can't teach.
If you have read my Family Planner blog post, you will remember me talking about a note telling my husband where to look. This is the planner he will find all their phone numbers.

On the back of the Student info I have printed out a form for student grades. So info on one side and grades on the other
With the grades insert I log all class test. Vocabulary and grammar tests. This way I can see and warn the child of their school grade.
We can both then see if our goal of a good grade will be reached at the end of the school turn or not. If he or she can relax or has to work harder.

Then I some empty dividers. I never know if I might need them or not.

Then I have a song page. Songs I like to sing in the lesson.
A plan of what subjects I want to cover in a school year for both kindergarten and school.

Then last but not least I have a pocket to hold any random paper I am given through out the day.

Over to you

What do you have in your teachers planner?

I Really would love to see some of your pictures.
Just be brave and write a comment below.

Have a lovely day

Christmas Decorations

Christmas Decorations

I'm not a Christmas decoration kind of person any more.
I used to be back in the day when my kids where small and we decorated the house together.
We usually leave the house over the holidays to get away from Family stress. Now that my children have moved out we can enjoy the holidays as a couple alone.

This year is different

This year we will be staying home so I thought that it would be a lovely idea to decorate the house. I'm going slow on this. I'm starting off small.

Here is my Christmas decoration haul

I went to depot to just have a look and see what they had.
You know like you do. You only want to have a look and not spend anything, but end up with a bag in your hand.

The candles and the plate are from Ikea.

Advent candle plate

It didn't turn out the way I thought it would turn out.
Thanks to my sister in-law who is good at these things it turned out much better.

This is what it looks like on my table.

Yesterday was the First Advent so The first candle was lit.

Over to you

Tell me what your decorations look like. Do you also have any Advent decoration? Do you have an Advent Calender?
This is what my husband got me. ( Farmers )

You can even link some of your photos here, I would love to see them.

Have a lovely Advent.

Stationary haul

Just a small haul

Just take a look and see what goodies I bought.

All Lazy

Our Edd

Our Edd is only a year old and just look at the way he's sitting there on the sofa in our hall way.

He looks more like a human than a dog.

If only he could talk then I wouldn't always have to guess what he want's to tell us.

Right at this moment he wanted to just relax on the sofa and not do anything

Vision Board

Making a vision board

Can be a fun arty thing to do. You don't have to be into crafting to make one. You only have to let the big kid in you out to play.

Get out those big scissors and glue out and get ready to play!!!!

Cut up some magazines with pictures of the things you want in your life and stick them down.
Doesn't have to be neat and tidy or even colourful. Just get sticking.

Why do I have a vision board?

I have a vision board to keep track of the goals I have in life.
Lot's of the things I want to have are stuck down on my vision board. It's not finished and doesn't have to be.
My dreaming is not complete so why should my vision board. I can add things to it as I go along in life.

What goes onto a vision board?

Anything and everything. What are your big dreams?
Or if that's to hard to picture or even think about, then start off with small dreams.
What do you need in your living space (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom)
What new clothes, hand bag, shoes would you like to have?

Now dream a bit bigger.

Is there a new car that you would love to have?
Where would you like to go on holiday this year or next year? Where would you like to spend your Christmas?
What did you want to be when you grow /grew up?
Would you like another job, what job would you like?
Do you need a new bigger bathroom or kitchen.
Do the children need new rooms?

Now dream a lot bigger

Is there this one dream that you haven't told anyone about because you just don't believe it will come true? Well that's the very dream you have to stick down.
Do you want to fly around the world in a hot-air-balloon?
Are you looking for Mr or Mrs Perfect, what should he or she be like? (Not talking about looks here, it's the inner person that counts)

Why do I have two?

Why not? The more the merrier I say.
One for my private life the other for my business life.
I could even have one for  my crafting life.
Can you think of more? Please do give me your ideas.

Where do I keep them?

I keep one in my office where I can look at it every time I sit down to do something. Or talk on the phone.
The other is in my bedroom. It's not far from where I lay my head. I look at it before I close my eyes and when I get dressed in the morning.

Now it's your turn.

I would love to see your vision board.
Just post a picture in the box below or your link.
Don't be shy.
Have a lovely day and keep dreaming.

Peace and quiet

Peace and quiet in the country.

I live in a small holiday resort.
Okay, resort is a way to big a word for our village. It's a farming village.
Our village has a camping site and small bed and breakfast houses.
We have more pigs that live here than people and loads of tractors.

I just can't believe that people from the city would want to come here to have a holiday. They come here on bikes, caravans and cars packed full.
To have some quiet time and to smell the country air.

The noise

To tell you the truth you can't have a quiet minute here in the country.

It's a Sunday morning and I'm all on my own listening to the peace and quiet.
There is so much noise outside.

Farming noise

The air conditioner for our pigs. Well it's not really a air conditioner it pulls out the bad air in the building so that fresh-air can come in and the pigs can breath. It's back ground noise.
Tractors bringing food for the cows or taking away harvest, or just driving back and forth. Now they can be really load.

Animal noise

I hear my dogs barking in the garden and other dogs which live nearby answering.
My dogs don't bark all the time, but it's noise.

I hear birds squabbling, bees humming and building a nest in my outside blinds. Cows mooing in the field opposite our farm, and our own pigs playing tag.

Birds are the ones which make the most noise and the most mess.
Do I complain about the mess? Yes,  I do.
I've had to move garden tables, chairs and our bikes away so that they don't poop on them.
It's when I look up into their nest and I see little wings and small heads bobbing up and down, that's the kind of thing that softens my heart.
When I see their mother or father coming to bring them food, I think there is my peace.

So maybe the country side can be peaceful.

Starbucks Friday

Starbucks Friday

Today after school I decided to not to drive home but carry on-wards towards Bremen to visit Starbucks to have my favourite frap and to do some writing.

I have been having problems with writing at home.

You see, I would always stop and do something important like hang the washing up or but the dishwasher on. You know the very very important everyday stuff.
So we thought (the family and I) that I should use the Friday to just drive on from school to Bremen because it would only take me 30 minuets to get there and not 45 mins if I was to start from home.
Another reason is that I do believe I get more done this way.
By the looks of things it's true.

This is my first Friday where I'm attempting to do some work outside of my home.

Okay so I get to Bremen all brave, park my car, no problem and feel so proud of myself that I have made it this far. Then feeling kinda hungry I go in search for some food (it's now lunch time).
Still feeling brave I move on to find Starbucks.

Then my nerves start to build up

What if I can't find a nice place outside to write? What if all the comfy chairs are all taken? What if it's too cold to sit outside? Oh no it's starting to rain.
Try calming yourself down with all these worries, not an easy task.

No problem I'm me I can do this. No problem I'm me I can do this. On and on, one foot at a time.

Ordered my drink became a star saver, put 10€ onto my card and moved on to find myself a nice comfy chair outside.

Next problem, next worry.

I wanted to take my sons computer out of my bag but couldn't. I thought people would stare at me and wonder what I was doing. Looking around I couldn't see anyone working. So I tried to work on my windows phone, that didn't work out too well, way too small.

So I had to be courageous and take it out the computer and just start writing.

While taking another look around I see people doing homework and other´s doing cross words. Business men talking on their phones others writing in appointments.
See silly me no need to worry at all.

It starts to rain even more and not at all warm outside.
I know I could go inside.
I peek into the window but there doesn't seem to be that much space in there.

I start to reason with myself.

Time to do my pro and cons.
The air outside is much better.
You can see more of the outside world from here.
It's raining but I'm under this brick thing.
I'm dry but cold.
There are not as many people sitting outside (well no because it's cold and raining).
I might come out smelling like coffee. (Now is that really a bad thing?)
The last thing I say to myself is, if it gets too cold I'm going some place else.

No I didn't move I stayed there for a few hours more and got loads of work done. Drove home happy and content.
Ready for another Starbucks Friday.
