Setting Goals for 2015

Are you setting your goals for 2015?
Have you started putting them into your planner?
Are you having trouble with setting up goals?

On my Facebook page I asked my friends if they had any goals for 2015.

Their first answer was they didn't have material goals.
SO I said good. What are your none material goals?

Peace of mind
To be happy
To find the right partner
Goal setting doesn't work.
You can't plan out your life.
You have to live in the moment.

I got the goal setting doesn't work a lot.
You know me I don't take simple answers. I want to dig deeper.
I want more fulfilling answers.
Fulfilling was my word of the year 2014.
So I dug deeper.

I started off with,

"If your goal is to have peace of mind, how do you want to reach that goal?"
"If you want to be happy, how are you planning on reaching that goal?"
"How will you find your new partner?"

I asked questions of HOW, WHY, WHEN, WHAT

The answers I got

By digging deeper I got them to tell me their goals.
The funny thing was, is that they didn't see them as goals just things that they wanted.

"I don't want to spend an other Christmas on my own"
"I want to go on holiday with my family"
"I want to spend more money on myself"
"I want to find out what makes me happy"

These material and none material things are what their heart wants but they are afraid to speak up and tell them to the world and most importantly themselves.

Seeing goals as a wast of time

The reason why they thought that setting goals or planning out your goals was a wast of time is because they never came true. They never happened.

They believe that if you set goals and plan them out, you leave no room for spontaneity. With everything planned out, you end up living a boring life.

Everything has to do with The way your mind is set.

Goal setting is a wast of time, is what they believe to be true, which will end up being true.

Seeing setting goals as a wast of time is because they take their goal setting not seriously enough.
If done half heartedly then of course it's a wast of time because it just, doesn't, get done.

How I set and plan out my goals

First I write down all the things that I want for the year or years to come.
I don't say what I would like because they are things that I WANT.

Would like is not a strong enough word. It's a polite word.
But the universe needs to know that I really want it.
Not just would like which is hope to have it. Hope is a future word and will stay in the future and not come into the present.

After writing the things down that I want, I then I take a look at when I want them.

Let's just take a look at one of my goals.

I don't want to celebrate my 40th birthday with a big party. I want to be on my own with my hubby somewhere. So I asked myself where?
On the Aida.
So I have a Where and a When. I put this into my calendar and work backwards.
What needs to be done, to be on the Aida for my birthday?
I write down everything that I need to do, like book a room on the boat. How much will it coat me? How much do I need to save up? Do I have enough clothes?
I plan out when all my to-does need to be done and do them. Bookings, saving up and shopping for new clothes.

Ok too easy you say. Then let's move onto a harder one.

To be happy.

What makes you happy?
What small things make you happy?
What used to make you happy as a child?
Where were you the most happiest?
How could you bring more happiness into your life?

First write down what makes you happy.
Is it eating an ice-cream?
Going to the movies?
Meeting some friends?
Reading a book?
Getting your hair or nails done?
Dancing around in circles with no clothes on listening to Madonna?

After you have found out what makes you happy then choose a day of the week and schedule it into your calendar.

There easy-peasy. You now have more fun in your life and that leads to happiness.

It's the same for finding the right man.
You ask yourself questions.
What type of man do I want?
Where will I be likely to meet this man?
What are his interests?
Do I need to be going to the places I think he will be at?
Do I need a friend to help me?

The first step it always writing your goals down on paper

Then making a to-do list of what you need to do to reach that goal.
Breaking down your to-do list into even smaller baby steps so you dooon't give up before you start.
Scheduling your baby step into your calendar.

Oh and having fun along the way.

Now over to you. What are your goals for 2015?

Leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you.

Have a wonderful goal planning.

Planner up-date for 2015

My Filofax Personal up-date

2015 isn't that far away

With only a few days to go till the end of 2014, it's time to add 2015 to your planner.

Thanks to Raine from LimeTreeFruits.com I was able to update my planner last month.
If you go over to her blog you can also be just as lucky as I am.

I am a member and I love being one

Being a member means that you can receive different planner pages.
Here are the bigger boxed Personal. A month on 2 pages.

I also have a year on one page stuck on the back of December; month on 2 pages.

I am still looking for

a week on 2 pages that I like.
This year 2014 I have been using the Filofax a week on 2 pages. It is lined and has a touch of colour.
Which you all know I need.

These are easy to use, because you can write in a straight line.
At the top of the page I am able to write my important goals of the week.
I can then schedule them into the day of the week I want to have them done.
What I want done I write on the right side of the page, under the title Erledigen, which means To-do.

I'm not a planner decorator

I like to have space to write and don't want to spend my time with stickers. I like to watch other people use them, but it's not for me.
I like to use different coloured pens, and that's it I'm afraid.

My dividers

Are so so cool. You can find these dividers at LimeTreeFruits
Raine has done all the decorating for me, now aren't they gorgeous.

This is when my control anxiety raised its ugly head.

While writing this post I was getting worried about my Week on two pages for 2015. I hadn't found the same ones I was using this year. I didn't like the ones that came with this planner.

I Started to get all tense again and worrying that my year 2015 wasn't all that nice to look at or functional.
That I might not use this planner and not be structured enough. The craziest things came into my head.
So I stopped what I was doing. Changed my state. Started to visualise the perfect week on two pages.
We will see if what I visualised I am able to put down onto paper.

Visualising had gotten me calm enough to go onto Amazon and find the same pages I have been using this year.
Strange that I couldn't find them before hand, but they came to me when I needed them.

So that's all that has changed so far. We all know that I will be doing some new things between Christmas and new year. That's when I don't have to go work in schools.

Over to you

What have you changed in you planner for 2015? Have you added new inserts?

If you have any Questions about my planner, please do leave a message down bellow.

Have a lovely day

New home made Teachers planner

Home made Teachers planner

It was that time of year where all teachers, home schooling or conventional need a new planner.

I was on a mission again to find a planner that I liked.
I wasn't able to fine one that fit my needs. Having the same planner as I used last term wouldn't do me this year. (see teachers planner on this blog)

I wanted more colour. I wanted to love having this in my hands and opening it, using it. I also wanted something that other teachers didn't have.

Time to buy a new one

So this is when I went to staples and bought myself an new binder to hold all my lovely coloured pages.

I like the staples binders because they have rubber edges and have a pocket on the cover for your own pictures.

I have the LimeTreeFruits dividers and inserts. They only had to be printed out and hole punched and stuck in.

Where my planning love comes out to play

Inside my calender I have the days and times I am available, marked off. This makes planning my work life a lot simpler and I can never double book myself.
If for example a school phones up and asks if I can substitute, all I have to do is take a look at where I am at what time. That way I can tell them if I am free or not.

What I have inside

I have an income tracker inside because I work from home. This is in the front for easy access.

A year on one page with the school holidays blocked off. Good for planning when I will be working in the holidays and when I can book my own holiday.

I have 4 different school time tables inside.
Some schools have different starting and lesson times which at first sounds stupid but it makes my life much easier. I can then coordinate driving from one school to the next much better.
If they all had the same lesson plan I wouldn't be able to make 3 different schools in one morning.

Behind the second divider I have my home lesson plan. I write the children names and what they have had to learn that day. I also write down if I have given them homework so I remember to ask them for it the following week.

My next divider is my school lesson planner. What school or Kindergarten I have to be in and for how long. I have my lesson teaching plan written down so I don't forget or mix them up. I also write down if I have to bring props with me.

I then have student attendance insert. This is mainly for Kindergarten to I know how much money I have to invoice parents.

Student info is of cause for their telephone numbers. Mainly for when I happen to be ill and can't teach.
If you have read my Family Planner blog post, you will remember me talking about a note telling my husband where to look. This is the planner he will find all their phone numbers.

On the back of the Student info I have printed out a form for student grades. So info on one side and grades on the other
With the grades insert I log all class test. Vocabulary and grammar tests. This way I can see and warn the child of their school grade.
We can both then see if our goal of a good grade will be reached at the end of the school turn or not. If he or she can relax or has to work harder.

Then I some empty dividers. I never know if I might need them or not.

Then I have a song page. Songs I like to sing in the lesson.
A plan of what subjects I want to cover in a school year for both kindergarten and school.

Then last but not least I have a pocket to hold any random paper I am given through out the day.

Over to you

What do you have in your teachers planner?

I Really would love to see some of your pictures.
Just be brave and write a comment below.

Have a lovely day

Christmas Decorations

Christmas Decorations

I'm not a Christmas decoration kind of person any more.
I used to be back in the day when my kids where small and we decorated the house together.
We usually leave the house over the holidays to get away from Family stress. Now that my children have moved out we can enjoy the holidays as a couple alone.

This year is different

This year we will be staying home so I thought that it would be a lovely idea to decorate the house. I'm going slow on this. I'm starting off small.

Here is my Christmas decoration haul

I went to depot to just have a look and see what they had.
You know like you do. You only want to have a look and not spend anything, but end up with a bag in your hand.

The candles and the plate are from Ikea.

Advent candle plate

It didn't turn out the way I thought it would turn out.
Thanks to my sister in-law who is good at these things it turned out much better.

This is what it looks like on my table.

Yesterday was the First Advent so The first candle was lit.

Over to you

Tell me what your decorations look like. Do you also have any Advent decoration? Do you have an Advent Calender?
This is what my husband got me. ( Farmers )

You can even link some of your photos here, I would love to see them.

Have a lovely Advent.
